The Silverado packs a punch from factory - with incredible power, comfort and towing capabilities - only to let down by a shocking GVM of 3,300kg. Weighing in at 2,540kg*, you’re only left with a carrying capacity of 760kg. Four adults, a decent van on the back, and a full tank of fuel and you're pretty well overloaded. If you're wanting to build a capable Silverado, you have to consider a GVM Upgrade. With four options available, we'll have something that will suit what you're trying to achieve.

Federally Approved for Pre-registration

With a fairly ordinary payload from factory (700-750kg depending on variant), the Silverado 1500 needs a bit of help to get Tour-ready. You can hardly throw a full-tank of fuel, 4 passengers, and a caravan on the back without going over your payload.

The TSA GVM upgrades allow you to carry more weight and build a touring 4WD you can actually use. Here's why you need a GVM upgrade in the first place, and what we've got available to get you sorted.

GVM increase to 4,490kg and retain the maximum braked towing capacity of 4,500kg, giving you a combined mass of: LTZ - 8,990kg or ZR2 - 8690kg, pre-registration only; Front axle increases load rating to 1,850kg.
