The Patrol only has a factory payload of 742kg, so if you're intending to build a touring 4wd or tow a heavy caravan, you're going to bust past your carry capacity pretty quickly. Four adults, the ball weight of the van, and a full tank of fuel will pretty well tip you over your payload, so it's worth considering a GVM upgrade if you're doing anything serious to your Patrol. With multiple GVMs available, all running our upgraded Lower Control Arm, you'll travel happy knowing your suspension is properly equipped to carry the load and you're legally compliant.
*Specifications in reference to TI-L
• Rear spring options: 150kg, 300kg.
• The GVM has been increased to 4,200 kg. For pre-registration GVM, the max towing capacity remains 3,500kg. Post-registration GVM reduces towing capacity to 2,800kg, when the vehicle is loaded to full 4,200 GVM. The axle load ratings are: Front axle capacity = 1,650kg; Rear axle capacity = 2,550kg.
• A wheel and tyre package is required to support the increased GVM. The new max tyre size becomes 285/70R18. Rims and tyre MUST be load rated to be compliant with GVM upgrade. OEM Factory Rim DO NOT have a documented load rating therefore cannot support the increased GVM. Minimum tyre and rim rating 1,275kg.
• Variants have the option to reduce from factory fitted 7 or 8 seats down to 5 seats. This modification consists of removing the seats and seatbelts in the final row only. Category calculations included to show that the 5,7 and 8 seat options still have enough payload to be a goods carrying NB1 vehicle. Average reference mass = 2,936kg.
• These variants include Ti (mid) and Ti-L (upper).
• Load Rated Wheels Required
• Load Rated Tyres Required
• Rear spring options: 200kg, 300kg.
